Sarah Geronimo dismisses intrigue about rivalry with Asia’s Songbird

Sexy pop princess showcased in "Sarah Geronimo In Motion"

A few days before celebrating her 19th birthday, Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo made sure to fill up the Araneta Coliseum to say thank you to all her fans, supporters and loved ones who stood behind her throughout her young career.

Sarah's second major concert titled Sarah Geronimo in Motion was held last Saturday, July 14, and once again affirmed why the Star For A Night alumnus is considered as one of the most bankable young singers of her generation.

With a sexy dance number for its opening act, the concert made true its promise of showing Sarah at the threshold of becoming a woman. Donning a silver futuristic outfit, the pop singer shone in her performance of a sexy Beyonce Knowles ditty.

Sarah then did a medley of her past hits notably her winning piece, "To Love You More," which was met with great applause and nostalgia. The decision to slice her old hits into a medley instead of doing a full number was perhaps in line with the producer's desire to unveil a new chapter in Sarah's career and to break the predictability of the event since many were expecting to hear the familiar tunes during the show's finale.

Actor-singer Jericho Rosales graced the event and did three rocking tunes—"Manila," Jeans' "Tuwing Nakikita Ka," and the funky OPM classic "Yugyugan Na." Incidentally, Echo is Sarah's leading man in the upcoming soap opera, Pangarap Na Bituin. Sarah joined Echo for a duet of the soap's official theme song while clips of the series were shown through a giant TV screen situated at the top of the stage.

The evening, of course, wouldn't be complete without Sarah's longtime singing and onscreen partner, Mark Bautista. After singing a duet of the Neocolors' hit "Kasalanan Ba?" Mark sincerely congratulated Sarah and thanked her for all the wonderful memories they shared. It is quite noticeable that fans have come to accept the fact that there's no budding romance between the two. The reception received by the pair that evening wasn't as thunderous compared to Sarah's first major concert although everyone found it cute when Mark complimented Sarah for being "sexy."

Sam Milby, who jumpstarted his segment in the program by singing "Maging Sino Ka Man," engaged Sarah in a rock n' roll duel as they took turns singing two Jon Bon Jovi gems—"Always" and "I'll Be There For You." Later on, Sam made a speech where he mentioned that Sarah's character is very Filipina and that she's the perfect example of the "ideal girl," prompting a loud cheer from the audience.

Sarah then tried her hand in singing a couple of Louie Ocampo tunes, which she passed with flying colors. The Pop Princess made a wonderful rendition of the tearjerker "Tell Me" and "You Are My Song," among other Ocampo originals.

Offering comic relief was comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas who wittingly combined modern youthful tunes with standard karaoke staples. The performance combined with Ai-Ai's hilarious dance moves brought the house down and put everyone in stitches especially when she reprimanded Sarah's off-timing in one of their numbers. Ai-Ai's presence definitely added color to the entire celebration.

Not to be outdone by her guest John Prats, Sarah gave her best shot in performing ala Michael Jackson in a quick-paced dance number that left everyone breathless. However, she did leave enough energy to match her next guest, Gary Valenciano.

Mr. Pure Energy sang and danced with Sarah to the tune of Justin Timberlake's first solo hit, "Like I Love You." Gary later on commended Sarah for her talent and a wonderful concert before settling down to sing a new and beautiful ballad that talks about undying love.

A couple of solo spot numbers saw Sarah singing a poignant rendition of "Bituing Walang Ningning," which is also the same title of the movie-turned-teleserye she starred in. Throughout the show, Sarah couldn't help but recall how she started out as someone who only wanted to sing but eventually achieved all her dreams. She basked in the gratitude of all her well wishers while singing "Forever's Not Enough," another well-loved hit of hers.

Returning for an encore, Sarah opted to end the night in an upbeat manner via Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape" and punk rocker chick Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" as bundles and bundles of flowers from supporters, sponsors and fans kept on flooding the stage.

Some showbiz personalities spotted during the concert were Beth Tamayo with husband Johnny Wong, talent manager Angeli Pangilinan with Heart Evangelista, Viva big boss Vincent del Rosario, and senator-elect Edgardo Angara who tapped Sarah as a campaign endorser during the last elections.

Make a date with Pop Princess SARAH GERONIMO at Fort Canning Park Print E-mail

Fresh from an 11-city concert tour in the United States, the 19-year-old pop diva will treat her audience here to hours of hits from her 5-year musical career. She will be joined by top balladeer and friend Mark Bautista, and R&B hit singer Kris Lawrence.

OFW Pinoy Star caught Sarah in between her hectic schedules, for an interview and pictorial right after her shoot for a Cebuana Lhuiller video and an episode of The Buzz.

She said she was so excited about bringing the Sarah Geronimo in Motion concert to Singapore. "First time po namin sa Singapore…," the beauteous singer said. "Sana'y maipadama naming sa mga pinoy sa Singapore yung pagmamahal ng mga pamilya nila sa Pilipinas, sa pamamagitan ng mga songs namin. Sana'y maging successful ang lahat!" (We hope the Pinoys in Singapore will feel the love of their families back in Manila through our songs.)

It has been a meteroric rise to the top for Sarah since she won the top prize in the TV singing contest Star For A Night in 2003, where she signed up for a 10-year recording contract with Viva Records.

Her debut album Popstar: A dream come true, featuring her first hit and contest piece, Forever's Not Enough became platinum seven times over.

"That was my very first song…dun ako nakilala. It's special to me so I'm glad people still love it," said Sarah. Another two more albums and Sarah took her place among the foremost recording artistes in the nation.

Her third album Becoming (August 2006) went from gold to platinum by the second month, with the carrier singles I Still Believe in Loving You, and Iingatan Ko Ang Pag-ibig Mo.

The fourth and most recent release, Taking Flight (2007) has just been proclaimed platinum. Expectations are just as high for her upcoming fifth album, due for release in the middle of the year. The repertoire includes a duet with Backstreet Boy Howie D., recorded in Los Angeles earlier this year. "It's an upbeat song…baka dumating po siya sa Manila to help me promote the song this year," said Sarah excitedly.

Aside from garnering awards in music (2008 MYX Music Awards Artist of the Year etc.), Sarah has been touted as one of the top teen actresses on Manila television and cinema today.

Under contract with ABS-CBN, Sarah has appeared in Sarah, The Teen Princess (2004), the hit TV concert show ASAP, and hosted the reality singing contest for kids Little Big Star (2007). Perhaps her most popular dramatic role to date was in Bituing Walang Ningning (2006), an adaptation of the 1985 hit classic movie where Sarah played megastar Sharon Cuneta's role.

She was also topbilled in Pangarap Na Bituin (2007) with Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador and Nikki Gil.

Coming up soon is a major cinematic team-up with ABS-CBN prime actor John Lloyd Cruz in a co-production between Star Cinema and Viva Films.

Also one of the Philippine's most in-demand advertising models and endorsers with contracts for fastfood, toothpaste, a school, telecoms, videoke, and most recently the apparel giant Her Bench, Sarah is seen as a great role model for young people. "I'm thankful and flattered…of all the young celebrities out there who are more deserving than me, ako pa po ang napili nila."

Now adorning major thoroughfares in Metro Manila, Sarah's unique "Her Bench" billboards are getting major attention. "Iba kasi ako duon, hindi nakangiti…iba ang styling…but it was so much fun, and it's a great honor to be included in the Bench family."

She graduated from high school in March and is now thinking of taking up a Mass Communications degree from an online university.

In 2005, Sarah performed to a crowd of more than 10,000 at her first major concert, The Other Side, at the Araneta Coliseum. It was a sold-out show, and the audience and the press were convinced that they just witnessed someone with the potential of becoming one of the most successful performing artistes in world-class Philippine entertainment, alongside powerhouse singers Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha.

Together with fellow singing contest champions, Sarah has performed in concerts in in the US and Canada in the past three years. She has also played to audiences in Dubai, Taiwan, Alaska, and the United Kingdom.

In the November 2006 fight of world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas, USA, she was chosen to sing the Philippine National Anthem, showing world TV audiences the exceptional singing prowess of the Filipino artiste.

Asked about her dreams, Sarah replied: "...to become an international artiste. "Napakalaking ambisyon…pero ang makilala sa buong mundo – yan ang talagang gusto ko pong makamit."

Sarah looks set to conquer the hearts of her audience in Singapore on June 15.

Angara admits teen star Sarah Geronimo's endorsement helped

MANILA, Philippines -- Citing a generation gap between him and hundreds of young voters, TEAM Unity senatorial candidate Edgardo Angara has said that the endorsement of teen singer-actress Sarah Geronimo has helped boost his candidacy.

Angara, who dropped by the National Citizens' Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) operations center in La Salle Greenhills in San Juan Tuesday, has been ranking between 7th and 8th in the partial, unofficial tallies of Namfrel and the Commission on Elections. He is the first TU candidate to visit the Namfrel operations center.

"Definitely [she helped.] You know, the first time I was elected senator it was 1987. Between '87 and now, a whole generation of voters have come in, and I suspect many of them don't even know what I've done," Angara told reporters.

"I needed a powerful communicator and messenger, so to speak. And I think Sarah did that very well," he said.

Sarah Geronimo became a star in 2002, when she won a popular singing contest on GMA Network. Aside from singing, Geronimo has appeared on television and the movies.

In Angara's television advertisement, Geronimo sang the campaign jingle and mouthed the campaign slogan of the senator, "Ang gara [Angara] ng Buhay [Life is beautiful]." She also introduced Angara as the author of the Free Education Act.

Although Geronimo's endorsement had helped, Angara said he was "still tense" because he had not yet been proclaimed.

"I am still tense because I have not been proclaimed yet…but less tensed and less harassed," said Angara

Although she admits that she hasn't fallen in love yet, singer-TV personality Sarah Geronimo will star in a movie, A Very Special Love, opposite John Lloyd Cruz co-produced by Star Cinema and her mother studio Viva Films. Reportedly, their movie faces threats from John Lloyd-Bea Alonzo fans who vowed they would boycott the team-up of John Llyod-Sarah, who had earlier worked together in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. Sarah has not denied that John Lloyd is her crush among the showbiz male stars.

Sarah Geronimo is the new face of Herbench

Lucy Torres-Gomez, Richard Gomez, Kris Aquino, James Yap, Christian Bautista, Rachelle Ann Go, Sam Milby, Rica Peralejo, Shaina Magdayao, John Prats and Dingdong Dantes are all models for Bench. Now, Sarah Geronimo joins them as she becomes Herbench's latest endorser.

Guests welcomed the chance to take a break from the summer heat during the one-of-a-kind launching of Sarah Geronimo as the newest endorser for Herbench. It was literally a cool event since it was held in the Mall of Asia's skating rink, a first in an event such as this. Adding sparkle to the occasion were champion skaters who impressed the crowd with their performances while models made their way to the catwalk.

The fashion show unveiled the latest collection of the Herbench line that featured a lot of skinny jeans, tops in soothing colors with punches of vibrant pinks, greens and yellows, shorts, skirts and shoes. But the highlight of the event was Sarah Geronimo.

Donning Herbench apparel, Sarah strutted her way to the catwalk as she performed several songs including Rihanna's "Umbrella." Though already considered as one of the most successful actresses and endorsers in the industry today, Sarah shared that this is her first endorsement for a clothing brand. Why Bench? The tagline "Her love. Herbench. Her Choice" couldn't be more appropriate since Sarah shared that she has really worn Bench even before. Maintaining her wholesome image, she was quick to clarify that she will not be endorsing the Herbench bath and body line which includes brassieres and panties. With the billboards and ads already in place, Sarah is indeed, now part of the Bench family.

Sarah Geronimo "touched" by Belo Essentials to be its newest endorser

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo joins local divas Regine Velasquez and Zsa Zsa Padilla and TV host Lucy Torres in the Belo Essentials family as she becomes the newest endorser of the beauty product brand.

In the media junket for the endorsement last night, May 19, at the Dolce bar on Tomas Morato, Quezon City, Sarah was welcomed by Dr. Vicki Belo, her daughter Crystal Henares, who is the general manager of Belo Essentials, and her son Quark Henares, a filmmaker.

Crystal said that they chose Sarah to represent their products because, "Belo Essentials stand for quality and if there's one useful beautiful person that stands for all these beauty [products], it will be Sarah. So we thought that she would be the perfect fit for our endorser. We're really happy to invite her and to be part of the family right now."

Their group also thought that it's time for Sarah to endorse beauty products such as Belo Essentials. Sarah was first seen by the public when, at only 14, she joined and won in the singing talent search program, Star For A Night (2003)

Crystal told the media, "Well, I think this is the perfect time also for Sarah because it's moving on to the next stage of her career. She's becoming a lady, she's turning 20 years old this year. So Belo Essentials just wants a hand to hold her through that stage. But she can also, you know, develop some qualities that our previous endorsers have so we'll some beauty secrets with her."

Sarah, on the other hand, said that she could not believe that Belo Essentials wanted her to be one of its endorsers.

"Talagang na-surprise ako," said Sarah, "kasi alam ko po na maraming pong mas deserving diyan na maging Belo endorser, at ako pa po yung napili ni Dr. Vicki Belo. Talagang flattered po ako ng very, very happy."

HIGHER TALENT FEE. Now that she is among the top celebrities that endorse Belo Essentials, many are curious about Sarah's talent fee for this particular endorsement. Was it the same amount as the first three endorsers—Regine, Zsa Zsa, and Lucy?

"Hindi po. Siyempre mataas po sila," Sarah humbly said.

However, Dr. Vicki Belo said otherwise. The lady surgeon said, "Siya na yung pinakamataas dahil yung tatlo [Zsa Zsa Padilla, Regine Velasquez, and Lucy Torres] ay libre.

"Hindi na sila nag-charge na talaga dahil naman si Regine has been with me for 18 years. I mean, they're all my friends and they knew na it was a new venture, so regalo nila sa akin yung talent fee nila sa akin last time. So wala talagang bayad."

Crystal also explained that Sarah deserves the talent fee that they have given her. Aside from appearing on its television commercial, Sarah also performed the product's jingle.

She said, "I think it's worth it. It's just a small token, I mean, Sarah has put so much time into this. It was also very hard for her to come out of her shell, you know, to show the different side of her. She worked hard for that. Sa song pa lang, di ba, for her to learn that and practice it? So, she really put a lot of time and effort for this."

NO TO SURGERY. Although Sarah is endorsing Belo Essentials, which is directly related to one of the most popular surgical centers in the Philippines, she's not interested in going under the knife to change anything about her body.

During the press conference, a reporter asked Sarah if there would come a time when she would have a breast enhancement at Belo Medical Group. The jolly singer replied, laughing, "Ay! Hindi pa po ba ito malaki? Hindi n'yo man lang na-appreciate, may nilagay po ako diyan. Hindi n'yo napansin?

"Hindi," she continued. "Mas maganda na po yung natural at saka okay na po sa akin ito. At saka singer naman po ako, hindi naman po ako sexy star, so okay lang."

Sarah was also asked if she had done a surgical job on her nose. Again, she said in jest, "Ay! Compliment 'yon, ha. Ibig sabihin improving. Gumanda po ba? Alam n'yo 'yan po talaga yung pinagpe-pray ko na sana ma-ano yung nose ko. Compliment po yun, compliment po."

However, Sarah clarified that endorsing Belo Essentials does not necessarily mean that she would undergo plastic surgery. It's a no-no her nose.

SECRET SUITOR? Since Belo Essentials aims to let out Sarah's different side, the media asked the young singer if there's a possibility that she will finally have a love life.

Since Sarah started in show business, she was never reported as being in a relationship. Guys were usually linked to her but nothing bloomed into a serious affair.

"Never been kissed, never been touched. Wala pa, e," said Sarah.

Explaining her singlehood until now, she said, "'Yon naman po kasi talagang hindi minamadali 'yan. Gusto ko maging very, very special po 'yan, talagang forever na. Ako, gusto ko kapag nagka-boyfriend ako, forever na, e. At saka ayaw kong umiyak, ayaw kong masaktan! Natatakot akong masaktan.

"Alam n'yo kasi, kapag ako po na-in love, magugulat kayo! Lagi ko pong iniisip sa gabi, kung sino man yung magiging Prince Charming ko, talagang mamahalin ko nang sobra-sobra. Pero may limitations din naman po."

How about suitors? Is anyone making a move towards the Pop Star Princess?

Sarah thought for a while before saying, "Suitor? Uhm, paano ko ba sasabihin ito? Parang, pahaging po."

The media began to wonder who this guy is, so they asked Sarah, "Is he part of showbiz?"

Sarah gave another clue, "Showbiz? Opo. Singer-actor po."

And then Sarah shied away from the topic. "Naku, alam n'yo na 'yon. Basta manghula kayo, alam n'yo na. Basta secret lang. Ayaw ko naman pong ibulgar, nakakahiya naman doon sa tao."

Sarah just told the media that she's still waiting for the perfect time to be in a relationship. She thinks that this is not yet the right time for her.

"Alam ko ho na magtu-twenty na ako, pero ang aking pag-iisip ay hindi pa mature. Huwag po muna kasi hindi pa naman po ako handa, baka kung ano lang ang mangyari sa akin."

Aside from her numerous endorsements, Sarah is also busy filming her upcoming movie with John Lloyd Cruz.

She will also have a duet with Howie D of the Backstreet Boys. The song will be included in her next album, which is set to be released in July.

Sarah Geronimo Models HerBench

Sarah Geronimo is the latest HerBench model. Sarah, as you can see, has fully grown up. Soon, she'll begin to ask her mother innocent, well-meaning Shakespearean questions like, "Mom, what is cock?" or "Mom, what is bukkakke?" That is, if she hasn't already. A bright exciting future awaits this girl.

Thanks to "Buddy Love" for these.

Sarah Geronimo refuses body enhancement

SARAH Geronimo has blossomed into a radiant Pinay beauty and experts agree, Sarah is simply enjoying her career.

Meanwhile, Sarah joins the league of ravishing beauties like Zsa Zsa Padilla, Lucy Torres and Regine Velasquez as Vicki Belo Essentials endorser. Why not? Aside from being an epitome of a Filipina beauty, she believes that beauty can fade but can be prevented and enhanced with proper consultation with beauty experts like Belo.

But in joining the endorsers of Belo Group of Companies, she refuses to go under physical enhancement. No, not yet. She's happy with her natural physical assets.

And Dra. Belo's lovely daughter, Crystalle Henares, the company's COO, agrees. She was a perfect host during the presscon for Sarah, proving that she's a big asset to the company.

Meanwhile, other than whitening products in various forms, Belo has whitening lotion with SPF15; whitening body bar and smoothing whitening bar with microbeads.

Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo wows Gen. Santos!

I was privileged to get a vantage position in front of the stage when ABS-CBN prized star performer Sarah Geronimo performed at the Lagao Gym here in Gen. Santos City last month. Being part of the volunteer group of ushers and usherettes who was helping the Manila-based producers secure the VIP area that night, I made sure that a few of the front row seats were reserved for the mayor and his family.

A few minutes before showtime though, I got word that the father of the city couldn't make it. That gave me the signal to give their seats to people at the 2nd row. During the process however, the band started playing, all the stage lights were turned on and the capacity crowd began cheering…… which could only mean one thing, the concert has begun!

This gave me no choice but to stay at where I am and sat on the floor in front of the front row seats.

Sarah Geronimo - Kahit Na

First of all we'd like to congratulate our Young Teenstar Princess Ms Sarah Geronimo for bagging all 4 awards she was nominated for during the last Myx Music Awards 2008. Also, we'd like to congratulate all people behind the scene who have voted so desperately, making Sarah Geronimo win all these.

Proceeding, we have here a beautiful song to present to you, it's her latest single from her Album Taking Flight, a Tagalog song which is entitled, Kahit Na. Enjoy!
Kahit Na

Pinilit kong limutin ka
ngunit hindi ko magawa
kahit anong sabihin
mahal parin kita
kahit na malayo ka
lagi akong umaasa
muli, muli, muling magsasama

Chorus:
Kahit Na

mahirap ma'y maghihintay
sa piling mo'y nasanay
iniwan na damdamin muling inaalay
malayo man sa piling ko
hinding-hindi maglalaho
Iyon-Iyo, Iyo ang puso

ohn Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo test their new love team in "A Very Special L

they are coming out again with a new one. Bahagi pa rin ng ika-15th

anniversary offering ng Star Cinema ang pelikulang A Very Special Love

under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.

John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo. This also serves as Sarah's biggest movie

break, and at the same time, parang launching niya rin para maging romantic

leading lady. Sarah did a movie before, ang Lastikman, which is an

action-fantasy movie.

lalaking mahal niya.

John Lloyd plays the serious magazine publisher, while Sarah

plays a fresh graduate na ang naging motivation sa pagpasok sa work ay

dahil in love siya sa kanyang boss (John Lloyd).

FUNNY SARAH.

May

In fact, maging si John Lloyd who first worked with Sarah sa

about his new leading lady, "In-fairness sa batang ito, nakaka-deliver!"

As mentioned, part ng 15th anniversary offering

ng Star Cinema ang A Very Special Love.

Gutierrez at KC Concepcion, Piolo Pascual at Angel Locsin.

CHEMISTRY.

via their first MMK episode. Hindi man sila natuloy sa

pagre-remake sana ng first movie together noon nina Sharon Cuneta at Gabby

Concepcion na Dear Heart, naging possible pa rin ito through A Very

Special Love.

Dugtong pa raw ni Bea, alam naman daw niya in the long run,

siguradong gagawa at magkakasama pa rin silang dalawa.

KING MEETS PRINCESS.

puwede raw sabihing, "The Box-Office King meets the Popstar Princess."

romantic movie ni Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina ang A Very Special Love,

tulad ng Close to You, You Are the One, You Got Me at One

More Chance.

Bukod sa dalawang bida, kasama rin sa A Very Special Love

sina Joross Gamboa, Irma Adlawan, Al Tantay, Gio Alvarez, Matet de Leon, at

Marianna del Rio.

SARAH IS BIG WINNER AT MYX AWARDS

MANILA, MARCH 29, 2008 (STAR) SOUNDS FAMILIAR By Baby A. Gil - Viva singing star Sarah Geronimo emerged as the top winner in this year's MYX Music Awards. She copped Favorite Song for the Medwin Marfil composition, Ikaw, which is one of the cuts in her all original Filipino album Taking Flight. She was also named Favorite Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist of the Year and finally, the MYX Celebrity VJ of the Year.

Unfortunately though Sarah was not around to enjoy those glorious moments as she could not be at the Meralco Theater last March 26 when the MYX Awards ceremonies were held. She is currently on a tour of Canada and the US with fellow singing champions Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista and Mark Bautista. However, thanks to new technology, the enterprising guys in MYX USA were able to shoot Sarah with her thank you speech.

Incidentally, there is big news coming up regarding Sarah's next recording. Reports have it that she will be staying behind in Los Angeles after the champions tour to record a duet with a cute member of one of the biggest boy bands in pop music history. The song will be included in her new album which has a July release date.

Now, since she is also on tour with Sarah, Rachelle Ann was also not able to accept her awards in person. These are for Best Mellow Video for her song Alam ng Ating Mga Puso from the album Obsession and for Pag-ibig Na Kaya, her duet with ex boyfriend Christian Bautista as Best Collaboration.

This is Rachelle Ann's second win in this Mellow category. She got the same two years ago for her recording of From The Start from the CD of the same title. Ironically though, despite these mellow awards, Rachelle Ann is set to turn rocker soon with the release of a new live-recorded album of rock classics next month.

Gary Valenciano, Mr. Energy himself became the recipient of the MYX Magna Award. He comes on the heels of truly illustrious predecessors, namely Megastar Sharon Cuneta and the greatest trio ever to hit Pinoy pop music, the Apo Hiking Society.

And there is no question that Gary V, has indeed made his mark in Philippine music, not just because of the hits Sana Maulit Muli and Kailangan Kita or longevity in the business, he started out in the early '80s but as an example of what a esteemed, well-liked and disciplined performer should be.

Sarah Geronimo to record a song with a popular boy-band member

SARAH Geronimo is not resting on her laurels. She has added several more awards to her ever-growing collection.

The Viva singing star emerged top winner in this year's MYX Music Awards. She bagged the Favorite Song award for the Medwin Marfil composition, Ikaw, one of the cuts in her all-original Filipino album, Taking Flight.

Sarah was also named Favorite Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist of the Year and MYX Celebrity VJ of the Year.

On top of that, she was named Best Female Performer in the recently-concluded Guillermo Mendoza Awards. (Martin Nievera was Best Male Performer.)

Unfortunately, Sarah was not around to personally receive her harvest of awards. She is in Canada, where she is on a concert tour with the old gang, Rachelle Ann Go, Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista.

She had just performed in Winnipeg where fans packed the music hall.

Thanks to new technology, however, the enterprising guys in MYX USA were able to shoot Sarah giving her thank you speech.

There is no question that the singer-actress deserves the awards. She is one of a few artists who can draw a big crowd at the Araneta Coliseum. Her last concert, Sarah Geronimo in Motion, rocked the Big Dome and has been preserved on DVD.

Her fourth album, Taking Flight, also topped the music charts. Almost 500,000 have viewed her music video, How Could You Say You Love Me, on YouTube.

Reports have it that Sarah will stay behind in Los Angeles after the Champions tour to record a duet with a cute member of one of the biggest boy bands in pop music history.

resh from a hugely-successful concert tour of Canada and the US, Sarah Geronimo stayed behind in LA to do the vocals for a duet with Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough in LA. The song, titled I'll Be There and produced by Christian de Walden, will be included in Sarah's latest CD which will be released in July. De Walden is the same guy who acted as go-between for Claire dela Fuente and Richard Carpenter for Claire to record the song Something in Your Eyes.

Howie D. reached worldwide fame as a member of the BSB along with AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter. He is best known for his falsetto singing which is easily recognizable in hits like I Want It That Way, Drowning, The Perfect Fan and Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.

He is the lead singer in the songs Spanish Eyes, What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful and How Did I Fall in Love with You. He is set to visit the Philippines in July to shoot a video with Sarah and promote the duet.

Sarah Geronimo,

born as Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo on July 25, 1988, is a famous Filipina singer and actress, popularly known as the one and only "PopStar Princess".
Sarah Geronimo is an icon of the young people.

At the age of 14, she won a reality singing contest, entitled "Star for a Night"(2003) of IBC Channel 13. After winning, she signed a 10-year recording contract with Viva Records and released her debut album, "Popstar: A Dream Come True" on September of 2003, and reached 7x platinum. She also staged her first solo concert at the Music Museum in the same year. In 2004, she signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN, the Philippines Largest TV Network and starred on several television programs, such as the "Sarah, The Teen Princess" and became a mainstay until now in ASAP, the most popular noontime musical variety show in the Philippines. She also released her new album, "Sweet Sixteen" and together with other singers, they staged a successful concert in Araneta Coliseum, that also did well in abroad.

In 2005, Sarah appeared on more television shows, performed on concert tours and sang theme songs for movies. Then in the same year she staged a sold-out major solo concert in Araneta Colisseum, entitled "The Other Side". And in 2006, she casted as the lead actress of a top-rating soap opera, "Bituing Walang Ningning", that was considered another milestone in her huge career. She also relased her third album, Becoming, and had successful concert tours outside the country.

2007 was another great year for Sarah, as she hosted a reality singing contest for children, the "Little Big Superstar" and took another lead role on a top-rating soap opera, "Pangarap na Bituin". In the same year, she staged another sold-out major solo concert in Araneta Colisseum, entitled "Sarah Geronimo in Motion" and went again abroad to have concert tours. Then after the great event, she released her fourth album, "Taking Flight" that reached platinum in a short period of time. She also stayed in L.A.(US), to record with Howie D. of Backstreet Boys.

Sarah Geronimo had closed numerous multi-million peso endorsement contracts with the biggest corporations and brands in the country, including Jollibee, Skechers, Hapee Toothpaste, AMA University, Talk n' Text, Belo Medical Group, Ladies' Choice Mayonnaise, Islander Slippers, Surf Detergent, Charmee, Rajo Laurel Apparel, Surf Max Internet card, Startec, Cebuana Lhuillier, Extreme Magic Sing Videoke Microphone, HerBench and many others. She also endorsed a campaign for a running senator, Edgardo Angara, who eventually won the race. As a result, Sarah was considered one of the most in-demand and effective product endorser of the Philippines.

At present, after another sold out major valentines' concert in Araneta Colisseum with other singing stars and successful concert tours abroad. Sarah Geronimo is about to host another season of her singing contest, and will do another soap opera, Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.

Sarah Geronimo has received several awards, most were appreciation for her being a good example to the Filipino youth, this includes an Anak TV Seal Award, People of the Year of People Asia Magazine, Asian Magazine People of the Year, some were from the government and others were from respected institutions. As a singer, she won several recording awards from the most prominent award-giving bodies in the country. Recently, she was the biggest winner in the MYX Music Awards 2008, as she bagged four awards including, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Favorite Myx Celebrity VJ.

Sarah Geronimo is now considered as the biggest singing superstar of this generation, and one of the most in-demand product endorser and successful actress and host at present. Her fans are really waiting for her to appear on the big screen once again, as the lead actress. And this dream happened as VIVA Films and Star Cinema collaborate to shoot a film with her and John Lloyd Cruz. Recently, after endorsing HerBench, Cebuana Lhuillier and Belo Essentials, many said that she is not a princess anymore, she must be called the "POP QUEEN".

At the present generation of Music Industry in the Philippines, she is currently holding the highest spot, even though numerous novice singers tries to take the spot from her, no one had really succeeded so far. Certainly because, among all the young solo singers in the country, Sarah Geronimo is the only one who can stage a sold-out concert and cast on television and movies that will profoundly register a huge success.
